Leadership & Team Building

Manufacturing Day promotes the manufacturing industry as a future career path to high school students. This video won first place in the Macomb Intermediate School District Manufacturing Day video contest and was a team effort of myself and two other teammates.

About Me

I am currently a senior at L’Anse Creuse High School North, and will be attending Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Broadcast Journalism and Mass Communication in the fall. I have been involved in my school’s broadcast media program since my sophomore year and have developed strong skills in areas such as interviewing, filming, editing, directing, producing, and performing as on-air talent. I am a member of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Student Advisory Committee, where I write bi-monthly articles and plan future MAB student events. I also had the opportunity to attend the MIPA Summer Workshop where I earned the Sparty Award for my leadership and producing abilities in the "Broadcast Boot Camp." In my junior year of high school I began volunteering at Shelby TV, a local cable station in Shelby Township. After 3 months of showing up almost every day, I was offered a paid internship position on their team. At Shelby TV, I work main camera for all of our live sports productions, create news packages, and film/edit video for the news show. I recently took on the role of producer of the township's Library Show. I have loved and appreciated this opportunity to get practical experience in the broadcast industry while still in high school.

The LCN bowling team is having a very successful season. Team members are confident that they can make it to states for the first time.

After several years of planning, Shelby Township officials break ground of where Fire Station 5 will stand. This video aired on Shelby TV and created while I was still an intern at the station.

In TV Broadcast Media, students are encouraged to snap away because it can be used to engage students in their education. This video was produced in under two hours.

One teen falls into an icy lake and is recused in minutes thanks to the fast efforts of the Shelby Township Police Department. I spent two days knocking on doors in the area trying to find the civilian mentioned but was unable to locate her. This video was created  and aired on Shelby TV during my internship.

Picking the right sunscreen is imperative to protecting yourself from skin cancer, but with so many different kinds it can be tricky to know which one to use. This video was my first report for Shelby TV as an intern.
